When you convert currency or send money across borders with Hugo Wallet, the exchange rate you get is sourced directly from live global markets — not set manually or updated once a day. Understanding how rates work helps you make informed decisions, especially for larger transfers.

How Rates Are Sourced

Hugo Wallet connects to global currency and crypto markets and refreshes exchange rates every 30 seconds. This means the rates you see in the app always reflect near real-time market conditions, giving you an accurate picture of what your money is worth at any given moment. When you initiate a conversion or transfer, Hugo Wallet’s algorithm evaluates the available rates across its liquidity sources and executes your transaction at the best rate available at the moment of confirmation. This smart execution is designed to protect you from unfavorable rate swings during the brief window between when you start a transaction and when it completes.

Example Conversion

To give you a sense of scale, here is an illustrative example based on recent market conditions:
1,000 USD → ~132,500 HTG
This rate fluctuates with global markets. The exact amount you receive is always shown to you before you confirm any transaction.
The rate displayed when you start a conversion is an estimate based on the latest 30-second update. The rate is only locked at the moment you confirm the transaction. For large transfers, initiate and confirm promptly to secure the rate you see.

Supported Currency Pairs

Hugo Wallet supports conversions between the following currencies: Cross-pairs between any two supported currencies (for example, EUR ↔ HTG or CAD ↔ BRL) are also available. Hugo Wallet routes these through the optimal path to give you the best effective rate.

Live Crypto Prices

In addition to fiat currencies, Hugo Wallet displays real-time prices for major cryptocurrencies directly in the app:

Bitcoin (BTC)

Live BTC/USD price updated every 30 seconds from global crypto markets.

Ethereum (ETH)

Real-time ETH market price shown in the app for reference.

Solana (SOL)

Current SOL price tracked live alongside other major assets.

BNB

Live BNB pricing displayed in your Hugo Wallet dashboard.

USDT

Tether (USDT) price shown for stablecoin reference and conversions.

How to Use the Built-In Converter

Hugo Wallet includes a currency converter so you can check live rates before committing to a transfer.
1

Open the Converter

Visit hugowallet.finance and navigate to the Converter section, or open the Converter tab in the Hugo Wallet app.
2

Choose your source currency

Select the currency you are converting from (for example, USD).
3

Choose your destination currency

Select the currency you want to convert to (for example, HTG).
4

Enter the amount

Type in the amount you want to convert. The converter will instantly display the estimated amount you will receive at the current live rate.
5

Proceed to transfer (optional)

If you are happy with the rate, proceed directly to a deposit, withdrawal, or transfer to lock in the rate at confirmation.
Timing larger transfers can make a difference. Because Hugo Wallet rates track live markets, exchange rates can vary meaningfully throughout the day based on global economic events, market open/close times, and trading volume. For large conversions, monitor the Converter and initiate your transfer when the rate is favorable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Hugo Wallet pulls exchange rates from global markets and refreshes them every 30 seconds. Because markets move continuously, the rate you see when you first enter an amount may shift slightly by the time you reach the confirmation screen. The rate shown at confirmation is the one that applies to your transaction. For this reason, we recommend reviewing the confirmation screen carefully and confirming promptly once you are ready to proceed.
Hugo Wallet includes a small spread in the exchange rate — this is the difference between the raw market rate and the rate offered to you. There are no hidden fees on top of this. The app always shows you the full converted amount you will receive before you confirm, so you can see exactly what you are getting. During the World Cup 2026 promotional period, Hugo Wallet charges 0% fees on transactions, making it an ideal time to make larger transfers.
Hugo Wallet currently supports USD, HTG, ILS, EUR, CAD, and BRL for fiat currency conversions and transfers. Crypto support includes BTC and USDT TRC20 for deposits and withdrawals. Additional currencies may be added over time.
