When you convert currency or send money across borders with Hugo Wallet, the exchange rate you get is sourced directly from live global markets — not set manually or updated once a day. Understanding how rates work helps you make informed decisions, especially for larger transfers.

## How Rates Are Sourced

Hugo Wallet connects to global currency and crypto markets and refreshes exchange rates **every 30 seconds**. This means the rates you see in the app always reflect near real-time market conditions, giving you an accurate picture of what your money is worth at any given moment.

When you initiate a conversion or transfer, Hugo Wallet's algorithm evaluates the available rates across its liquidity sources and executes your transaction at the **best rate available at the moment of confirmation**. This smart execution is designed to protect you from unfavorable rate swings during the brief window between when you start a transaction and when it completes.
